These final days brought to a close an intensive week of work in San Marino, dedicated to addressing key challenges:-CBRN Preparedness. Prof. Roberto Mugavero and Dr. Heejun Shin MD, MS, FIBODM Shin, WADEM Board Member and close friend of CEMEC. Our thanks also to Dr. Rajeev Fernando, called to emergency operations after the earthquake in Venezuela.
-Global Health Emergency Corps (GHEC), Dr. Oleg Storozhenko, World Health Organization.
-Disaster Evaluation Research, Prof. Ernesto A. Pretto, Jr. MD, MPH and Prof. Knut Ole Sundnes.
-Tabletop Simulation Exercises, where the Romanian and Spanish teams, longtime CEMEC partners, strengthened decision-making under pressure.
Our gratitude goes to Their Excellencies the Captains Regent of the Republic of San Marino, the State Secretariat for Health, and the State Secretariat for Education and Culture; to the entire CEMEC team, especially Loretta Bellucci and Daniela Fiorentini, and our interns Arooj Abid, Tashfeen Akram, and Mohammad Usman Imtiaz. The ๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ช๐ถ๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ต๐ผ๐ผ๐น ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ (October) and the ๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ฆ๐๐บ๐บ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ต๐ผ๐ผ๐น ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ณ (June) will explore Health Security, CBRNe, Emergency Medical Teams and Disaster Medicine. Both editions will bring together the expertise of a Council of Europe and World Health Organization Collaborating Centre with immersive, hands-on training: virtual reality, simulation-based learning, model-based tabletop exercises, and field activities.
