First Aid Course for Elementary School Teachers

CEMEC recently launched two new first aid training programs for approximately 40 primary school teachers, led by four instructors and focused on the practical management of health emergencies in the school setting.The program addressed the essential actions to be implemented in the early stages of an emergency: assessing the scene, recognizing altered state of consciousness, activating emergency medical services, and first lifesaving maneuvers.
The goal is not to assign teachers a clinical role, but to strengthen their ability to recognize critical situations, intervene appropriately, and support the initial stages of the emergency chain until professional help arrives.
Training school staff is an important component of broader community preparedness, especially in contexts where timely recognition of a critical situation and immediate intervention can directly impact the outcome of the emergency.
