It was a real pleasure to take part in the Grand Energy Forum – “From Land to Sea and Sky” and contribute to a discussion capable of bringing together different experiences, perspectives and sectors around the future of energy.

One message emerged clearly: the energy transition isn't just about new technologies. It's about people, systems, responsibilities, and our ability to anticipate and manage increasingly complex and interconnected risks.
It is precisely in this context that the perspective of the European Centre for Disaster Medicine takes on particular relevance. As energy systems and infrastructure evolve, emergency scenarios also change. Innovation, preparedness, resilience, and health security must therefore proceed together.
For us, being part of this dialogue means bringing attention to a simple but essential question: as we build the energy systems of the future, are we also preparing to protect people and respond effectively when something goes wrong?
Progress must not only be sustainable. It must also be safe, resilient, and ready to face the unexpected.
