Improving Emergency Medical Teams Capacity: A Joint Initiative by CEMEC and the Italian Relief Corps of the Order of MaltaCEMEC and the Italian Relief Corps of the Order of Malta - CISOM have formalised a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a joint Emergency Medical Team, marking an important milestone in advancing coordinated medical response capacities.
This initiative reflects a shared commitment to enhancing preparedness and ensuring a timely, structured, and effective response to emergencies, disasters, and humanitarian crises at both national and international levels.
The agreement lays the foundation for a modular and scalable operational framework, integrating medical, technical, and logistical expertise from both organisations. It also promotes joint training activities, exercises, and the development of common operational procedures, fully aligned with international standards, including the WHO EMT framework.
Beyond its structural components, this collaboration represents a strategic investment in capacity building, interoperability, and long-term resilience. It highlights the importance of coordinated approaches, where synergy between institutions becomes a key enabler for effective action in complex and high-pressure scenarios.
For CEMEC, contributing to this initiative as organiser reaffirms its commitment to supporting the development of integrated, professional, and forward-looking systems for emergency medical response.
