New partnership to strengthen Disaster Medicine and Civil Protection

The European Centre for Disaster Medicine (CEMEC) and the Italian Relief Corps of the Order of Malta (CISOM) signed a Memorandum of Understanding in San Marino to consolidate and expand collaboration in the fields of disaster medicine, risk management, and public health protection.The agreement was signed by Dr. Maria Enrica Bonatti Mameli, CISOM Councillor responsible for hospital and charitable activities, and Prof. Roberto Mugavero, President of CEMEC, in the presence of Dr. Fabrizio Celestini, Deputy National Director of the Italian Relief Corps of the Order of Malta, and of Eng. Pietro Falcioni, Head of Civil Protection of San Marino.
This MoU marks a significant step in:
-Enhancing prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery in the face of emergencies and disasters.
-Developing joint training and research activities, fostering innovation and the exchange of best practices.
-Supporting the growth of volunteers, professionals, and technical experts engaged in disaster response and health protection
By joining efforts, CEMEC and CISOM reaffirm their commitment to strengthening international cooperation and promoting a culture of solidarity and resilience in disaster medicine and civil protection.
