Preparedness belongs everywhere: from music to emergency response

CEMEC organized a new First Aid and Emergency Management course for 35 teachers of the San Marino Music Institute.
For a week, together with four of our trainers, music educators stepped into emergency scenarios, and learned how to manage those first critical minutes before professional responders arrive. It was outside their daily routine, but fully aligned with their responsibility toward students.
What impressed us most was the mindset. Focused. Present. Willing to learn. No one was there because they had to be there. They were there because they care.
Emergencies don’t choose the setting. They can happen anywhere, even in a music classroom. And preparedness is one of the most concrete forms of care.
Seeing 35 educators embrace this journey reminds us why training matters. Resilience sometimes grows quietly, between a piano and a violin.
