The European Centre for Disaster Medicine opens its new Emergency Preparedness and Response Webinar Series with a session built around a real case: mass movement risk in Western Cameroon, using years of GIS-based mapping in a tropical mountainous environment as the starting point for a broader conversation.
The idea is simple but not obvious: how do you take solid scientific mapping and turn it into something disaster risk planners and decision-makers can actually use? The session is built for a mixed room on purpose, earth scientists and GIS specialists alongside practitioners and institutional stakeholders, bridging research and operational practice.
