rescEU CBRN-DSIM-IT
Verona, 4-5 march 2026
CBRN Preparedness and European CooperationCEMEC had the opportunity to participate in the rescEU CBRN-DSIM-IT initiative bringing together institutional stakeholders, technical experts, and operational actors engaged in strengthening CBRN preparedness and response capacities at European level.
The initiative is part of the EU rescEU reserve and focuses on developing advanced, deployable capabilities for Detection, Sampling, Identification and Monitoring (DSIM) in Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear scenarios. In this context, the Italian contribution plays a key role in providing mobile laboratories and specialized operational assets to support rapid and coordinated response.
The programme offered a valuable opportunity to connect strategic vision with operational practice. The tabletop exercise and subsequent debriefing enabled a constructive exchange on coordination mechanisms, interoperability, and decision-making processes in complex scenarios.
The visit to the mobile laboratories further highlighted how technological innovation and field readiness must be closely aligned to ensure effective response in high-impact situations.
Participation in initiatives of this nature confirms the importance of continuous dialogue, institutional cooperation, and shared learning in strengthening preparedness and resilience.
CEMEC remains committed to contributing to these efforts, supporting the development of integrated and operationally grounded approaches to risk management and emergency response.
