Strengthening Civil–Military Dialogue in the CBRNe Domain
October 17,2025-Oberammergau, Germany
CEMEC continues to actively contribute to high-level international training activities at the NATO School Oberammergau, Germany.
During a recently delivered CBRNe-focused course, in which we were engaged as speakers, military officers and civilian experts worked side by side to examine operational coordination in response to evolving unconventional and CBRNe threats. The exchange of perspectives once again confirmed a fundamental principle: effective response requires structured integration between defense frameworks and civilian health-security systems.
Beyond the classroom engagement, we also had the honor of meeting with Colonel Bradley Ritzel, USA-A, Commandant of NATO School Oberammergau. Our discussion focused on both the current state and the future trajectory of civil–military cooperation, particularly in addressing unconventional and CBRNe risks within increasingly complex operational environments.
The conversation reaffirmed a shared vision: preparedness is not built in isolation. It is strengthened through institutional dialogue, joint training, interoperable doctrines, and mutual trust between military and civilian stakeholders.
