Teaching Life-Saving Skills from an Early Age
San Marino, February 6, 2026
CEMEC was pleased to contribute, as organiser and trainer, to the second edition of the “Kids Save Lives” project in the Republic of San Marino, now successfully concluded.
The initiative engaged 15 primary school classes and over 250 students in practical first aid training, focusing on essential life-saving skills such as recognising cardiac arrest, responding effectively while awaiting emergency services, and managing airway obstruction.
This experience reflects a clear and growing evidence base: introducing basic life support training at school age contributes significantly to improving survival outcomes and strengthening community resilience.
For CEMEC, this initiative reaffirms a key principle: preparedness is a continuous process that must start early and involve the whole community.
We extend our sincere thanks to all institutions, schools, and partners who supported this initiative and made it possible.
