United Nations University - High-level Conference on Women, Peace and Digital Transformation: Economic Inclusion for Lasting Stability
November 17, 2025, Tokyo, Japan
Women, Peace & Digital Transformation - Honoured to Have Joined an Inspiring Global ConversationWe had the honour of taking part in the High-Level Conference on Women, Peace and Digital Transformation: Economic Inclusion for Lasting Stability, co-hosted by the United Nations University and the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia.
This year’s edition was especially meaningful: it marked the 25th anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 and the 50th anniversary of the United Nations University, an ideal moment to reflect on the progress achieved and the work still ahead to strengthen women’s leadership in peacebuilding, resilience and digital innovation.
Why does this matter so much? Because the evidence is clear: when women are actively involved in peace processes, agreements last longer, communities recover more quickly, and societies become more stable.
At the same time, key challenges persist. Digital gender divides, limited access to skills, and technology-facilitated violence continue to restrict women’s full participation in the digital sphere. This conference brought together exceptional global voices to confront these barriers and explore concrete pathways toward empowerment and long-lasting stability.
Our presence reaffirmed our commitment to inclusive resilience, crisis-preparedness and human-centred security. Women’s empowerment is central to peacebuilding, health security and community stability, values deeply embedded in CEMEC’s mission.
We are grateful for the opportunity to connect, exchange perspectives and contribute to a conversation that truly lies at the heart of sustainable peace and global resilience.
