The European Centre for Disaster Medicine (CEMEC), with the Institute for Social Security (ISS) and Silentcroc, recently delivered the "Stop the Bleed" course to over 80 healthcare professionals. This initiative aimed at providing the tools needed to manage life-threatening hemorrhages effectively, knowing that massive bleeding can turn fatal in just 2 minutes.
This hands-on training introduced practical skills like the use of tourniquets, a life-saving technique adapted from military practices. The commitment shown by medical and nursing staff underlines the importance of quick, competent action in trauma scenarios and their dedication to community safety through continuous professional education.
