


CEMEC and Council of Europe Delegates Officially Welcomed by the Captains Regent of San Marino

In the prestigious setting of the Public Palace, Their Excellencies the Captains Regent of the Republic of San Marino granted an official audience to the European Centre for Disaster Medicine, the Directors of the Specialised Centres of the Council of Europe’s EUR-OPA Major Hazards Agreement, and the Permanent Representatives, on the occasion of the opening of the EUROMED PROTECT-NET Forum.This high-level institutional moment reflects San Marino’s steadfast commitment to fostering international dialogue on disaster risk reduction, emergency governance, and health preparedness.
During the ceremony, San Marino’s Secretary of State for Territory and Civil Protection, Hon. Matteo Ciacci, highlighted the Republic’s role as a key hub for global dialogue on preparedness and resilience. Prof. Roberto Mugavero reaffirmed CEMEC’s dedication to advancing international cooperation, while Mr. Krzysztof Zyman, Executive Secretary of the EUR-OPA Agreement, emphasized the symbolic and strategic value of hosting the Forum in San Marino.
Their Excellencies the Captains Regent expressed deep appreciation for the initiative, recognizing its significance and the outstanding contribution of all participating institutions to building a safer and more resilient Euro-Mediterranean community.
