Successful CBRNe Summit Asia in Manila: International Attendance Surpasses 120 Participants The recently concluded CBRNe Summit Asia, hosted in Manila, Philippines, between December 5th and 7th, 2023, emerged as a significant milestone in disaster management and security, attracting over 120 attendees from Southeast Asia, United States, and Europe. Organized by Intelligence sec with collaborative scientific support from the European Centre for Disaster Medicine (CEMEC), the University of San Marino's Center for Security Studies (CUFS), University of Rome "Tor Vergata" - Department of Electronic Engineering (DIE), and the Italian Research Institute Observatory on Security and Defense CBRNe (OSDIFE), the event offered an extensive program comprising conferences, exhibitions, and live demonstrations. These activities were strategically designed to cover a wide spectrum of essential topics concerning disaster response. The initial day commenced with introductory remarks and welcoming addresses, setting the stage for discussions on regional first responder strategies and operational methodologies. In-depth talks focused on various aspects of emergency response, encompassing medical countermeasures and procedural insights into handling potential CBRNe incidents. The following day featured extended discussions on crucial themes, offering insights into international cooperation and initiatives such as the European Union Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Risk Mitigation Centres of Excellence Initiative, disarmament plans, emergency toxicology, radiation safety, and response strategies to nuclear threats. Additionally, on the third day, attendees were captivated by practical exercises and demonstrations led by the Philippines Bureau of Fire Protection HAZMAT Team, showcasing cutting-edge technologies in HAZMAT/CBRN response. The Summit, enriched by the participation of sponsors and exhibitors, not only served as an informative platform but also facilitated valuable networking opportunities for all attendees. This gathering highlighted the global significance of collective efforts in fortifying disaster preparedness and response mechanisms, presenting vital insights to bolster emergency response capabilities on a worldwide scale.
