The upcoming online Workshop titled "Climate Change and Health: Understanding Risks and Solutions," scheduled for 23 July 2024 from 02:00 p.m. to 04:00 p.m. Central European Time, offers a platform to explore the profound impacts of climate change on human health.The event aims to clarify of how climate change intensifies public health risks, including heat-related illnesses, the propagation of infectious diseases, and the psychological distress associated with environmental disruptions.
This Workshop is intended for a diverse range of participants, including professionals from both public and private sectors, academia, community leadership, non-governmental organizations, healthcare, corporate sustainability, media, and the general public. It provides a valuable learning opportunity for those engaged in or affected by public health and environmental policy.
The agenda includes an exploration of the effects of greenhouse gases and carbon emissions on global temperatures; the impact of temperature variations on oceanic and terrestrial ecosystems; the consequences of extreme weather events such as floods, droughts, and wildfires; issues surrounding water scarcity and polar ice trends; challenges to food security and nutrition; the implications of regenerative agriculture and air quality; and the significance of renewable energy and international accords like the Paris Agreement.
Speakers for the event include Prof. Roberto Mugavero, President of the European Centre for Disaster Medicine, and Mr. Pablo Antonio D’Agostino, an ESG Specialist with deep expertise in sustainable development goals and environmental management systems.
All participants will receive a certificate of attendance issued by the organizing institutions, underscoring the educational value of the workshop.
