Book on “Mastering Civil Defence in Times of Conflict”This book stands as a result of collective dedication and research efforts by the National University of Civil Defence of Ukraine and the European Centre for Disaster Medicine - CEMEC, in collaboration with highly esteemed academic and research institutions.
Notable contributors include the University of the Republic of San Marino - University Center for Security Training (CUFS), the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" - Department of Electronic Engineering, and the Observatory on Security and CBRNe Defense – OSDIFE.

The findings and lessons gathered in this volume attest to the incredible complexity and breadth of challenges faced by civilian responders during times of conflict.
The research has meticulously examined methodologies and techniques to protect first responders from risks associated with operating in hostile environments.
Additionally, it explored the functioning of rescue management systems in war-torn contexts, the logistical organization of units, the significance of preparedness, and the collaboration of volunteers, with a particular emphasis on providing psychological support to the civilian population both during and after hostilities.
Lastly, the book critically observed and analyzed the gaps that emerged during such situations, offering targeted recommendations to enhance the organizational aspects of civil defense activities, aiming to provide practical insights to manage the challenges faced by first responders in critical areas.
