An extraordinary week has begun in Geneva

The Opening Ceremony of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GP2025) has just concluded, and we can only say: a powerful and meaningful beginning. Hosted by the Government of Switzerland and promoted by UNDRR, the event brought together voices from all over the world to renew a shared commitment: to reduce risks, strengthen resilience, protect lives. Between high-level speeches and profound cultural moments, the ceremony reminded us how urgent – and possible – it is to act together in the face of global challenges: from climate change to rapid urbanization, from health crises to geopolitical ones. CEMEC – European Centre for Disaster Medicine is proudly present, contributing to the dialogue with its expertise in the field of health security, emergency preparedness and the crucial role of disaster medicine in building a safer future for all.
