The CBRNe Summit 2024 closes successfully

Successful Conclusion of CBRNe Summit Europe 2024The International Conference “CBRNe Summit Europe 2024” which took place in Hungary, amidst the splendid backdrop of Budapest in the past few days, once again saw the European Centre for Disaster Medicine continuing its collaborative journey as a key player and scientific partner of this prestigious series of events.
The Summit, held under the auspices of the NATO Joint Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Centre of Excellence, along with the CBRNe Observatory for Security and Defense (OSDIFE), the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" - Department of Electronic Engineering, and the University of the Republic of San Marino - Center for Security Studies, welcomed over 200 participants from more than 20 different countries and more than 25 exhibitors.
The three-day event, excellently organized by Intelligence-Sec, brought together experts, technicians, scholars, both civilian and military, to explore the latest advancements, emerging scenarios, and challenges in the fields of security, defense, and chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive (CBRNe) risk.
On the final day, attendees witnessed a live demonstration showcasing the capabilities of the Hungarian Defence Force, alongside teams from the National Bureau of Investigation, in response to a terrorist attack involving CBRN IEDs, as well as CBRNe forensic investigation activities.
The Summits's overarching objective was to analyze and deliberate on emerging scenarios, understand the complexities of countering CBRNe threats, develop a deeper comprehension of potential countermeasures, and, importantly, discuss the significance of international cooperation in mitigating asymmetric and unconventional risks.
