From January to June, the “Saving Lives is Child’s Play” project has achieved significant milestones, thanks to the enthusiasm of instructors, students, and teachers. Between January and May, 260 students from 14 fifth-grade classes participated in the project, learning to recognize cardiac arrest, perform resuscitation techniques while awaiting help, respond to airway obstructions. During two-hour sessions combining instruction and interactive games, instructors: Showed the Italian Resuscitation Council’s (IRC) video “A Breathtaking Picnic.” Taught resuscitation and obstruction clearing techniques. Certificates of “Expert Rescuer” awarded to each student. Scholars also shared their experiences through drawings, showcasing their understanding and retention of the lessons. CEMEC’s commitment extended to the “Festival of Games,” involving all elementary schools in the Republic. The festival, enriched by various cultural institutions, combined education and entertainment in a community setting. Children learned to recognize dangers and manage emergencies through educational and playful activities at CEMEC’s interactive stand. Special thanks to the instructors who actively participated: Andrea Lepri, Linda Mussoni, Antonio Russo, Luca Bianchi, Mirco Lepri, Tommaso Bernardi, Eleonora Chiaruzzi, Anna Gualandi, Giulia Valli and Gian Marco Gatti. CEMEC’s involvement in the festival highlighted the event’s commitment to comprehensive education, emphasizing physical activity, social interaction, and essential life skills. This initiative marks a shift towards holistic educational methods, preparing children for all of life’s challenges, including unexpected emergencies. The festival’s success in integrating fundamental skills through engaging activities sets a new standard for educational events, providing a model for future initiatives aimed at creating safer, healthier, and more interactive environments for the next generation.
